Are you feeling stuck,
stressed about work or a relationship,
overwhelmed by recent changes?

Perhaps you've simply grown tired of trying to fit into that box that you, or someone else, thinks you "should" be in.

We all face times in our life when we realize that we are not where we want to be or that our usual solutions are not working as well as we had hoped.

In these moments, it can be helpful to partner with a trained professional who wants to see your point of view and assist you in getting to where you want to be.

Meet Jacqueline

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

From my perspective, therapy is never one size fits all. I practice from a client-centered and strengths-based approach, which simply means in the work we do together, that you are our best and most important resource.

My goal is to help you find a way forward that honors who you are and what matters most to you.

I draw from a variety of approaches including mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), often incorporating skills that help
with emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

I am certified as a Level II therapist in TEAM-CBT, an effective high-speed CBT framework founded by Dr. David Burns which is based on testing, empathy, agenda setting, and methods.
For work with couples, I am trained as a Gottman Leader and Prepare-Enrich Facilitator.

How I Work

My style is collaborative and infused with respect, humor, and curiosity. I aim to bring warmth and empathy to the very human experience of pain and grief that we all share, while helping you to decrease suffering and intentionally keeping your therapy goals in focus.

Together, we will explore what brings you to therapy, identify strength and growth areas, and determine the way forward toward what matters most to you.

Through your sessions and homework in between, you will learn new skills, deepen personal insight and practice actively engaging in behaviors that align with your values and beliefs in order to improve the quality of your life.

Background

I was born and raised in Oakland, briefly relocated to a couple different locations and happily made my way back to the Bay Area to put down roots. My family is multicultural in a number of ways including race, ethnicity, and spirituality, and from an early age this significantly shaped my passion for getting to know people and appreciating how they experience the world.

I received a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and a Master of Social Work with Distinction from California State University Northridge. As a therapist, I have the education, training and experience to facilitate deep healing with individuals and couples.

PAYMENT

Payment is made online and due at the time of each therapy session. For a quote of my current rates, please contact me directly.

I currently do not accept insurance and therefore am considered an “out-of-network” provider. At your request, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit for reimbursement according to your plan.

If you require a therapist who is in your insurance network, you can try filtering by insurance on Psychology Today. For lower fee therapy sessions, check out Open Path Collective.

CANCELLATIONS

I have a 2 business days cancellation policy (for example, sessions scheduled for Monday must be cancelled by Thursday of the previous week).  Since your scheduled time is reserved for you, you are responsible for paying for sessions missed or cancelled with less than 2 business days notice.
